He was born in Rashemen in the inner city to a rich mother and Father, his father was a human artisan who created giant works of art with golden frames and sold all across the world. My mother was a famous warrior who was on the 3 person council of a small band of 50 Mielikki Paladins. The Paladins of Mielikki aided in the defense of the city from the Fey wild and from the Norse barbarians. Lom grew up with a lavish childhood with many toys and things to do, constantly surrounded by servants. He was a great listener but he did not absorb much of specific stories as his mind tend to float towards being outside with others and adventuring like his mother. When he turned 9 his mother began training him daily in fighting with a variety of weapons and armour. She would have him do many grueling workouts such as running up mountains with large sacks of flour on his back. Lom always had a very relaxed chipper attitude throughout the training as long as he performed all of his superstitions and was often seen as a model trainee for the paladins On Lom’s 16th birthday he woke up early and ate a hearty breakfast as today was the day of Dajemma (also spelled darjemma was a type of coming-of-age tradition for young Rashemi men to travel to foreign lands to see and understand more of the world.) As he finished his meal he headed out to the training field where he found 30 paladins that would look identical if not for some height and weight differences. Each had full plate armour, a helmet with the visors down, a sword on their hip and a satchel of varying sizes in their hand.
As Lom walked in the ceremony began as each paladin would stop him as he walked, they would offer him a piece of wisdom and hand him what was in their satchel. It started with simple things like a heavy fur coat, sleeping bag, a large backpack, rations, Tinder twigs, gold coins, and then was followed by his full plate armour piece by piece, a special necklace of Mielikki. After a long ceremony one paladin would blend into the next as they were all so similar except the last one who held a greatsword in their hands was his mother. He could not tell by her visual appearance but he could tell by her voice as it spoke to him in a firm unwavering voice. He still remembers her words “and this Greatsword shall be your weapon paladin. I pass it down to you from my own lineage and you yourself are to bring it back to me in hand when Mielikki wills it so” and she handed Lom the sword and with that she raised a hand ushering the other 29 paladins out of the training arena. After they left she removed her helmet letting her long golden hair flow down her shoulders. She had eyes of bright blue that shimmered in the light of the early day sun as she held back tears. “I am so proud of you son and I am excited to send you off. Your mission is to explore where Mielikki leads you, follow the signs no matter how small and bring me back this blade within your own hands.” She placed one hand on Lom’s shoulder and led him to a boat on a rough river beside the city where she sat him and blessed him with a prayer of battle, prosperity, and love. She then shove off the boat. Lom took the words from the paladins very seriously and allowed the boat to flow south until it eventually docked itself on the river’s edge. He left the boat and hiked his way along the river west to Zhentil Keep he spent some time here and then eventually continued down south to Cormyr where he had many adventures working with a temple of Mielikki until one day he was hit in the face with a flyer asking warriors to help take on the orc armies.
He quickly made his way west as fast as he could, protecting caravans to get rides and money to maintain his equipment. He road all the way up the sword coast to Nesme where he spent time helping move people closer to the city of Nesme.
