Pokémon Coco Trailer Released
With Pokemon Day now in the rear view mirror, there were a couple of major announcements including the reveal of the new Mythical Pokémon Zarude along with Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back now available to watch on Netflix.
Today, after it was teased earlier this month, the Pokémon Company has released a trailer for Pokémon the Movie: Coco, the latest upcoming Pokémon movie featuring long-time protagonist, Ash Ketchum.
Ash, once more joined by his companion Pikachu, head into a new region as they explore a vast forest with what appears to be Shiny Pokémon prevalent. Right off the beginning, we’re introduced to a Shiny Celebi as it flies through the leaves and branches of the canopy. We’re likely to see this Celebi returning during the movie given the Pokémon is capable of time-travel.
Coco, the central figure who Ash befriends, finds the forest his home as he swings through the branches and eats a variety of fruit with the various Pokémon inside this forested area. As has been reported, it seems Coco believes he is a Pokémon which explains his peculiar behavior during the trailer. The uncanny resemblance to the Disney classic Tarzan is hard not to spot for anyone who has seen the movie.
However, trouble stirs as explosions rock the trees causing Pokémon to panic and Coco to tumble from a high tree point. Swooping in to save him is the newly revealed Mythical Pokémon, Zarude, who has a strikingly similar resemblance to Coco, so we’re likely to see some sort of connection explained between these two.
