Pokemon Day 2020!
With Pokemon Day 2020 having just passed by us on February 27th, its time to dive into all of the new released that day! Pokemon Day originated because the first Pokemon games were released in Japan on February 27, 1996.
So let’s start with the Pokemon Go information release. Pikachu and Eevee will both be roaming the wild wearing fancy party hats. Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander will also be sporting party hats, and will only be received by hatching 7km eggs. Don’t forget, shinies are always a possibility! Armored Mewtwo is also making a big come-back in 5-star raids alongside the addition of the Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back movie being added to Netflix. And remember the super cool clone Pokemon from the movie? Some of them will also be making appearances in 4-star raids (examples include Charizard, Blastoise and Venosaur!) Be sure to pull out your Go snapshot as well! Clone Pikchu might make a special appearance. This event will last until March 2nd, 2020 at 1pm PST.
News from Pokemon Sword and Shield is also experiencing limited time adventures. Max raids have seen some new (and yet familiar) faces. The original 3 Kanto starters will be making appearances until March 2nd, as well as Toxtricity with an Amped Form in Sword and a Low Key Form in Shield until March 9th. Other max raid additions are also Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, Kingler, Orbeetle and Hatterene. There has also been the release of a new Mythical Pokemon called Zarude. He’s described as a “rogue monkey”, and can’t be found through regular gameplay.
